OPEN HOUSE: HHS is looking to have an Open House-ish on Wednesday, September 23rd, 2020 from 4:30-6:30pm. It was stated on the announcements that we would attempt to have a link our site about this today, it just didn’t get done. As we are working to finalize the plans we are putting that information together. What we can tell you is this: our outside doors will be open, updated maps with directional orientation (one-way or two-way hallways) will be available, schedules will be updated in RDS for locations (moving larger sized classes into larger-sized classrooms - same teacher if at all possible), student guides will be located throughout the building to help you find what you are looking for, and some staff will be present either in their rooms or roaming the hallways as well. We wanted to provide an opportunity to get to know the layout of the building and to have it be a free time to explore. Remember, MASKS are NOT optional. You MUST wear a mask to come into the building and it must stay on the entire time. More information to come as we prepare to post the information page and things are finalized.

Girls golf season came to a close at Sectionals on Friday.  The team closed out the year on a positive note by scoring their best 9 hole team score of the year on the front nine at Palmira golf course.  Leading the Trojan effort was Brooke Munoz with a score of 128 while teammate Anna Crowel tied her personal best 9 hole score with a 65 on the front nine.  Congratulations to the girls for all of their hard work and dedication throughout the season!

On Monday, September 28, 7pm on the football field we will have a coronation (crowning ceremony) to crown the Homecoming King and Queen.  This event is for juniors and seniors and the parents of the court.  There will be performances from the cheerleaders, Sapphires and more.  We are hoping to have some trivia type giveaways for the crowd. (This is being done to limit the number of "extra" people at the football game on Friday, ie-parents of court members)

No Homecoming Dance.  We are having a SOCIALLY DISTANCED, FACE MASKS ON, FREE movie night on the softball field.  Concessions will be sold.  The red carpet will be out and a HOCO candid can be taken at the door.  The movie is between Spiderman-Homecoming and Grease.  I will know sometime today.

V football lost 52-10 to Andrean on Friday.  They travel to Munster on Friday for the Battle of the Bridge.

Girls soccer lost 7-0 to Chesterton on Saturday.  JV lost 4-0.  The girls take on KV at home on Tuesday and it's Senior night.

Girls V cross country team took 5th place out of 21 teams at New Prairie on Saturday!  Madison Stephens ran the 10th fastest 5k time in Highland history!  JV girls team took 4th place out of 12 teams!  Danielle Rubalcaba dropped a full minute from her career best last week and another 45 seconds from last week's time this week!

Boys V cross country team took 15th out of 20 teams at New Prairie on Saturday.  Alejandro Miranda dropped his career best time from last week by another 1 minute 10 seconds this week!  JV boys team only had 4 runners so they were unable to count into the team scoring.  Boys and girls cross country will host the Highland Invite this Saturday.
